I often refer to our yoga classes as yoga for broken people. This is because many of us cannot transition as fast as we used to. For us, the way yoga is taught at the SMRT Pain Relief Center is the bomb! It is challenging without being difficult. It is designed for people with issues (like I have a fused big toe), meaning that everything can be easily modified. Our yoga classes will leave you feeling stronger, longer, accomplished, and relaxed.
The instructor, Debra Hennesy’s, education is in psychology, clinical rehabilitation and neuroscience, with an emphasis in psychoneuroimmunology (PNI)…which is a fancy way to explain the connection between the brain, body, and our internal healing capacities. She has over 6000 hours of training and experience, starting in 1995 in the fields of yoga therapy, yoga, Pilates, stress management, and psychotherapy. Debra knows how to modify for each of us without taking away from the other people in the class.
